Bathroom impressions

Bathroom impressions

Why are the most memorable and hilarious things my daughters have ever come up with linked to the bathroom? They are too funny not to share.

Several years ago, when my daughters were three years and 18 months old, I was trying to save time by bathing them together. On that particular day the first thing the eldest did when she entered the bathroom was touching the toilet stone and licking her finger. While I was explaining to her why it wasn’t a good idea, the youngest had finally figured out how she could climb into the shower. She laid down on the edge of the shower cabin and let the weight of her head pull her down into the cabin. She immediately decided to try this method to dive into the toilet, but I was quick enough to stop her (“Kid drowns in toilet, mother accused of neglect” the newspapers would say…).

When I started to undress them, the eldest moaned that she didn’t want to take a bath (she didn’t like water) while the youngest was wailing because she wanted to take a bath immediately without wasting time undressing (she loved water).

Did you know I announce every new post on social media?

5 minutes later: both are in the tub. The youngest is splashing, the eldest is wailing because she is getting water in her face.

2 minutes later: the eldest is screaming because I am washing her hair and a drop of water lads in her face. The youngest is splashing.

Another three minutes later: the youngest is screaming because I am taking her out of the water.

One minute later: The youngest is dashing through the bathroom door to avoid being dressed again.

It was the last time they took a bath together.
